Intl. community’s silence emboldens S Arabia

TEHRAN, Aug. 16 (MNA) – Iran’s FM Spokesman Ghasemi said regrettable silence of international communities against targeting civilians has made Saudis increasingly more impudent.

Bahram Ghasemi, while strongly condemning the recent Saudi airstrike on a hospital north of Yemen, deemed the incident as a flagrant violation of human rights adding “while international principles and humanitarian law, and above all the human conscience, encourage all parties to take necessary measures to protect civilians and civil infrastructure during wars, war-mongering Saudis assume no bound to slaughtering innocent and defenseless children, women and patients.”

“Undoubtedly, these behaviors result from the deafening silence of international communities, including the United Nations (UN), against crimes committed by the Saudi regime,” he continued.

Ghasemi reiterated “it remains crystal clear that the action taken by Yemeni representatives to resume the parliament and democratic structures has caused growing anger in Saudi Arabia; therefore, the child–killing regime is seeking revenge by relentless attack on hospitals and schools.”

At least 25 civilians have been killed and 20 others injured in a Saudi airstrike on a hospital north of Yemen on Monday.
